Curtis P. Davis

DavisCurtis

Curtis Pasquinel Davis, Sr. affectionally known as “P” by friends was born November 18, 1978 in Cleveland, Ohio to Pierre L. Davis and Michele Averyheart. At the age of 6 he moved with his dad, Pierre, and mommy, “Pretty Lady” Toni, to Columbus, Ohio where he lived the majority of his life. Curtis attended Columbus Public Schools and later received his GED. He worked throughout his early adult years beside his father and brother in the family home remodeling business, until dabbling in his own entrepreneurship ideas and most recently partnering in a music label startup.

Curtis was handsome, intelligent, charismatic, confident, strong, loving, and loved by all. His favorite past time was basketball and wrestling. He lived life by his own rules and had his own sense of style with a lot of swag. He also loved his shoes. OMG, how he loved his shoes, that was his favorite part of his outfit. His shoe count was ever growing. He was a lover of music and had recently invested in his nephew’s musical career. But Curtis’ biggest love was family and close friends. During family gatherings he could walk into a room and command attention. He was loud, boisterous, and could fill the room with his undeniable presence. Curtis could be funny and silly at times and definitely the life of the party. He was full of love and could give it as easily as he demanded it. His loyalty and protection to his family was boundless. He loved living in the moment and making memories and then re-living those memories.

Curtis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phyllis M Davis, Percy M. Davis Jr., Robert Sharp, and Angus Arrington III; brother, Preston Fletcher; and an extremely devoted father, Pierre L. Davis.

Curtis leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Kayla Gentry, Curtis P. Davis, Jr., and Anthony P Davis; mothers, Toni Davis and Michele Averyheart; siblings, Monique Davis, Perry Davis, Tranay Davis, and Pasquinel Averyheart; grandparents, Marlene Sharp, Henry Averyheart, Ruby Davis, and Pearline (Edwin) Brown; childhood friend, Jihad Ali; special friend, Bobbi Clark; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Curtis’ father’s death weighed on him heavily, leaving a deep emotional scar that he never truly recovered from. He longed for his fathers’ wisdom and he would always reflect on what Pierre would do when making decisions. There is no doubt that his father was by his side and embraced him as he transitioned. Curtis’ memory will forever live on in our hearts and we will always carry his spirit with us.

Public Visitation 5-7:00pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
