Daisy L. Dickens, 76, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Kobacker House in Columbus OH. She was born March 25, 1943 in Norfolk Virginia to the late Simon & Alma Marks.

Daisy grew up in Norfolk VA and later moved to Columbus Ohio during her marriage to Charles Dickens who was an active member of the Navy. She was a housewife most of her life and she took care of kids through Franklin County for many years. Later she started working as a Home Health Aid taking care of the Elderly in their home and nursing facilities throughout Columbus OH. She enjoyed camping, sitting on the river bank fishing and roller skating.

Daisy joined Rehobeth Temple Church of Christ where she was actively involved in noon day prayer, the Pastor’s Aid, sang in the Majestic choir and Leader of the Young People Usher Board. Later she joined Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies and was an active member for many years. She worked in the food pantry and was very passionate about making sure those less fortunate was able to get the food they needed to feed their families. Later during her time at HGAAA she was named a mother of the church. Daisy loved the Lord, she enjoyed having church and praising the Lord.

Daisy was preceded in death by her son Tony Dickens and granddaughter Dichelle Dickens.

Daisy leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Devona (Shawn) Mathis; granddaughter, Shanelle (Emanuel) DeBose; grandsons, Michael Mathis and Tony Linder; great grandchildren, Amierah and Amiyah-Rose DeBose; Goddaughter, Sherry Patton; and God granddaughter, Sherrelle Patton; and a host of cousins, family, friends, and her Rehoboth Temple and Higher Ground AAA church family.

Memorial Service 6:00pm Friday, August 30, 2019 at Greater Christ Temple, 701 Sunbury Road.
