Condolence from Trina Brown on January 27th, 2022 1:41 pm

I encountered the magnanimous force that was Dana way back at East High School. She was larger than life even than. She cracked jokes, made everyone smile, and lit up a room with her smile. She was outspoken, gregarious and a powerful voice in the alto section of the EHS gospel choir.

Later in life, Dana was transparent about her health issues. She became my shero when she faced her amputation with such optimism and courage. She was fierce and fearless.

Her indomitable spirit could not be quenched by adversity or hardship or heartbreak. Dana was a fighter. I am grateful she allowed us to witness her trials and triumphs which made us all stronger.

I am also thankful I was able to celebrate her 50th birthday with her at her party. She was truly queen for a day.

I will miss Dana’s light, but I pray her positive influence never leaves me or any of us she touched.

Dana was my girl! A friend since the crazy days of St Thomas, and my August birthday twin.. Her positive attitude was contagious and her loyalty was a strong as her sassy comebacks! RIP beautiful angel!
