Darius Laporte Lanier-Walker was born in Columbus, Ohio on Monday, November 28, 1994 and departed this life unexpectantly on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Darius accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Lord of Life Fellowship Church in Columbus.

Darius showed an early aptitude towards arts and business. In his youth, he was a co-founder of his own neighborhood business, Seasoned Boyz. Darius attended schools within the Columbus Public School system and obtained his General Education Development (GED) in October of 2019. Darius was certified a Network Cable Specialist for Fiber Optics and Copper-Based Systems.

Although he struggled with finding his way, his faith was strongly invigorated in 2018. He noted in a letter to family “what I wanted to do I couldn’t conquer but what I hated I fell in love with, but I must conquer what I want and disown what I hate”.

Darius was predeceased in death by his grandfather, Darryl Laporte Walker.

Darius leaves to cherish his memory, parents Brian Walker and Sandra Lanier-Walker; brother, Julian Seigle Lanier-Walker; niece, Tatum Dior Miles; maternal grandparents, Seigle & Phyllis Lanier; paternal grandmother, Mary Walker; great-grandmother, Jettie Crook; aunt, Stacie Walker; uncles, John Walker and Corey Walker; special cousins, Bryanna Lynne Liggens Walker and Sydne Jones; godparents, Carl and Tyrrea Byrd, and Staci Joi Brown; and a host of other caring relatives and close friends.

Darius’ charm, loyalty and uniqueness will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

  12. Today, is Sunday, November 22, 2020, the eve of the Thanksgiving Holiday as well as the week leading up to what would have been Dar Dar’s 26th birthday (11/ 28/2020). He was my son, not by birth, but by the adoption and the grace of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I loved him as my own and was there to watch his transformation from an infant to a young man. My heart mourns for all of us who have lost our grandson, son, brother, nephew, great-nephew , cousin, uncle and friend. Our lives have been forever changed. God give us all the strength we need to make it without our child, your son, Darius aka the ‘Giant Slayer”
