
Darrick Michael Dawson ‘aka’ Tuff, Age 29 was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2023. He was born to Tasena Dawson and Darrick Crowder on December 27, 1993, in Columbus, Ohio.
Darrick was a pillar in his family. He had a special bond with his siblings, his son, as well as his mother, grandmother, aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a very special bond with his wife (Shatara Smith).
FUN FACTS If you knew Darrick. He was so silly, he acted like a clown. He loved to entertain, and making people laugh was his gift. His smile was so contagious, he brightened up the whole room. He loved to dance, Listen to Music, and drive his car. Darrick loved family, fun, good times, camping, being outdoors, and just being free. Darrick accomplished and achieved his goals of having his own family. He loved his wife and son dearly. He was a great husband and dad. He was a hard worker. He was certified in Masonry and working on starting his own business, he loved it. He was always determined to do a great job when learning a new trade. Soon after mastering you whatever it was you would see that big grin on his face. He loved children and being a mentor. He also had the biggest love for animals of all kinds. Dr. Dolittle we used to call him.
Darrick is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Mary Irvine; great grandfather, Ronald Cavell; grandfather, Edward Davis; uncles, Te’ron Crowder, Ronald Dawson, John Dawson and Charles Dawson; aunts, Pamala Helms-Dawson and Michelle Dawson; sister, (twin) Darricka Dawson; brother cousin, Malik Price; cousins, Robert Dawson, Timothy Dawson and Javona Dawson.
He leaves to Cherish his memory Parents; Tasena (Shannon) Dawson, Darrick Crowder, wife; Shatara Smith-Dawson, unborn child, son; Kamren, grandmothers; Teresa Dawson-Dalton and Candi Crowder, brothers; Jonathan Dawson, Duane Walker, Jabakki (Keoshie) Walker, Darrion Crowder, aunties; Christina (Ghasaan) Dawson-Patterson, Angela Dawson and Ashley Crowder, uncles; Edward Davis, Juan Nichols, and Jonathan Crowder. Special friends, Shawn Saunders Jr., Julius “man man” Shuemak, Antwan “Trouble” Woods, and a host of aunts, great aunts, uncles, great uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and friends that were not mentioned. Please understand we couldn’t list you all, but he loved each and every one of you. He will be truly missed!
Visitation 3:00 PM and Funeral Service 4:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).

To my family in Ohio that may not know me.I am sorry for our loss Derrick was a child the last time we saw each other. But I was keeping up with how he was doing from conversations.
