Dearest Family, You have our deepest sympathy at this very sad time. We are heartbroken and we are grieving with you. It is times like this that put our faith to the test and that is why we have to use our faith to see us through the grief and despair that comes with this tragedy. We will remember Darryl in many positive ways. He always had a big smile and a great sense of humor and he always had a great story to tell. Sorry to hear about the loss of your father although I didn’t know him that well, he always made me feel like another family member when I was around, I know this is a difficult time for you and your family and I also know how close you were to your father, there are not enough words to describe the feeling of losing a parent but I will say through the trying times we are living in that you still have brothers maybe not blood related but through life friendships that you can use to lean on in order to get through difficult times.. God bless G

  17. Lisa Gaines & Warren King

    Dear Family –
Words cannot explain how sorry and saddened we are to lose Darryl. He was literally my favorite (and infamous!) bid whist partner. 🙂 We are with you in heart and spirit today, holding your hands and giving you hugs from afar. It’s surreal to believe that we were all together just two months ago, and today things are very different. Our prayers and tremendous love are with each of you during this difficult time. If there is anything that we can do, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

And if Darryl has taught us anything – PLEASE be safe, wear masks, wash your hands (often), and be vigilant in protecting yourself from this disease that we still do not know enough about.

    With Love,
    Lisa (Gaines) & Warren (King)

Darryl, my friend and my cousin. I will always remember and never forget our debates on the issues. Since we were little kids we have always shared good times. Remember the night we went to that restaurant at The Ohio State University? You helped many and offered your damn good advice and I thank you for your wisdom. Rest In Peace now and we will meet and be together again. See you Buddy…

  19. Mrs. Shirley Jerry & Vernon & Alicia Jerry

Our hearts are heavy with grief, yet we are filled with immense joy because we were part of Darryl Angel’s life. He will forever be the joking around cousin who made you feel like you just saw him yesterday. At my first Angel Reunion he made me feel right at home. After Vernon and I got married he congratulated us, and he became my cousin Darryl. I loved talking trash with him and he loved dishing it out. His smile and laughter will remain in our hearts for eternity. I know there are no words to console our hearts but know this is not the end, we will see Darryl again. We serve a mighty Lord and Savior, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4.
Forever in our hearts, Mrs. Shirley Jerry and Vernon & Alicia Jerry

To the family of Darryl Angel,
It is hard to believe your gone. My family will miss your great stories and many jokes. I miss you calling playing on the phone, always talking about food. My mom will miss laughing at you. My family in Cleveland, always wanting you to come over and play cards, and talk trash. You had so much grieving before you left, you were tired. Darryl God will give you something to do, I know you knew him well
! You will be missed, and remembered! May the family find peace and unity with each other at this time of grief! Family, I am Praying for your comfort, after this loss!

  26. My Deepest Sympathy to the Mr. Angel Family. I just heard about him passing. I worked with Angel. He was a delight to know and work with. He will be sorely missed his spirit and humbleness.
God Bless his Family during this very difficult time.

  27. Ms. Cyndi Stewart

To all the family and friends of “Mr. Angel”, I know it is hard losing a loved one during these times. Unable to reach out and touch is so over whelming! But, it is for times like this that God gave us the gifts of loving and memories to reach out and grab hold of and cherish those moments to keep us going on. Always remember his smile, his laugh, his witty side remarks and his ” bear hugs”. Family, stay in unity with each other and be there to lift each other up. As a member of his church (CBWC), I will miss his enjoyment of my cooking at functions and making sure he had a take-home plate (or two). You will all remain in my prayers…Agape, Ms. Cyndi
