David Andrew Gaines was born on July 7, 1958, to Chauncey Wills and Brunetta Gaines in Columbus, Ohio.

David was a graduate of Mifflin High School. Upon graduation, David enjoyed a diverse career in quality control for Mercedes Benz, construction, and, most recently, a devoted caregiver to family and friends.

David had a zeal for life and never met a stranger. If he could help anyone in any way, David would. Family was important to him as he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.

David was taken from this life on January 6, 2021. He is preceded in death by parents, Chauncey Wills and Brunetta Gaines; sons, Corey and Geoffrey Neil; granddaughter, Jailynn Gaines, and three brothers; John, Steven, and Kenneth Gaines.

David leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Danielle and Kyra Gaines; eight grandchildren; Dezeray and Jacora Watkins, Akima Neil, Sanaya Taylor, Aundree, Nova, Jade and Emma Williams, and Angel Gaines, sisters; Joann Easley, Patricia Madison, Brunetta Thurman, Brenda Garcia, and Theresa James, aunts; Joyce (Leon) Newman and Jerry (Mervin) Winston; special friend, Debbie, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

David will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
