David Issac "Butch" Thompson, age 61. born March 30, 1953 to Charlotte and Huff. He went hometo be with the Lord on June 2, 2014 at 1:30a.m., at Grant Hospital. Butch is a native of Columbus, Ohio and attended Columbus Public Schools. In 1971, he enlisted in the Navy and served until 1975, when he was Honorably Discharged. Butch adn Janice Phillips met at OSU, and united in marriage on December 22, 1978. As a result of this union, their family consisted of seven children. Butch worked and retired from the City of Colubmus, Division of Parks and Recreation. He accepted Jesus Christ into his life in 2013 at Triedstone. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Patty, Marie and Laura, one brother, Vince and one son, Shawn. he leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 35 years, Janice: three sons, Issac, Martin and David: three daughters, Marquitta, Taquida and Ida (Keith); four brothers, Ronnie (Denise), James(Linda), Walter and Pat; two sisters, Jackie Cunningham and Mary Thompson; sister in law Juanita Hughes, brothers in law Jerry, Kayzon and Robert (Joyce), 13 grandchildren, Taron, Tykia, Tyrick, Taraya, Tameya, Tykwon, Kamareon, Drelyn, Exion, Elijah, Zaahir, Diamond and Mishti and a host of nieces and nephews. Butch will be missed by many loved ones and friends and a special memory to his childhood friends, Wesley, Chucky and Joe Clark.
