WynnDominique

Dominique Jerome Wynn was born July 6, 1978 in Columbus, Ohio to Jerry Hanks and Nadine Wynn.

Dominique had a servant’s heart. He was a certified lifeguard for parks and recreations for the city of Columbus in 1995 at the age of 17. In 1996, Dominique graduated from Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center and Northwest Career Center specializing in accounting. After high school, he joined, served, and defended our country here at home and around the world.

When Dominique left the military and returned home, he had four children and adopted two step children. Dominique continued to lifeguard and also worked at Riverside Hospital in the ER. Later in life, Dominique completed a culinary arts degree and became an assistant chef of numerous places including the Columbus Blue Jackets games.

He enjoyed playing all kinds of games from cards, video games, dominoes, but what he loved the most, was his Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, he did that any chance he could. He will always be remembered his devotion to his children and his unmistakable laugh and sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jerome Hanks and Nadine Wynn.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories; sisters Genevieve and Qiana Wynn, brother Jermaine (Nakita) Sturkie, son Da’Quan Wynn, daughters Dezarae, Zoe, and Diamonique Wynn, step children Tyshawn and Tasha’ Sears, Kim Sears, and Vanya Hairston, honorary sisters Tondalaya Allen and Vera Simmons, honorary brothers Gerald Bennett, Lamont and Lamar Smith, and Christopher Logan, also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 1:00pm and Memorial Service 2:00pm Saturday, January 25, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

I am grateful and honored to have been a co-worker and friend of Dom’s when he worked at Riverside ER. He had a caring heart and soul. He was gentile and kind to the patients and he made us laugh everyday. He was my friend. He listened, he gave advice, he made me laugh when I felt low. Rest easy my friend.
