Donald Crockett was born November 28, 1957 to John B. and Magnolia Crockett in Alliance, Ohio. Donald gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He attended Alliance High School and Central State University. He joined the Sheet Metal trade in 1986 as a journeyman.
On October 10, 1987 Donald was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Yvonne (Shepherd) Crockett. They made their home in Columbus, Ohio. From this union they had three beautiful daughters Shavonne (R.Sean) Johnson, Tyā (Everette) Logan, and Donnice Milner and a gift of seven grandchildren with another on the way.
Donald was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church for over 30 years. He was a deacon there for over 20 years. He dedicated his life to helping people in need. He wore many hats within Second Baptist: Co-chair of Bread Basket food pantry, on the board of directors for Chandler Arms Housing, active member in the men’s fellowship, drama ministry, transportation minister, sung on the praise and worship team and in the men’s choir as well.
Donald was devoted to his family and was a great man of God, husband, father, grandfather, godfather, son, brother, uncle and best to many. Donald never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. Donald loved skating, cooking, spending time with his children and spoiling his grandchildren, reading the bible and sharing the Word with his family and friends.
Donald was one of seven children. He is preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Crockett, parents John B. and Magnolia Crockett, his siblings Sammie George Crockett, Willie James Crockett, and Johnnie Joe Crockett. Left to cherish his loving memory are his children Shavonne (R.Sean) Johnson, Tyā (Everette) Logan, and Donnice Milner along with his seven grandchildren Damiah Milner, Dakota Milner, Cameron Logan, Shania Johnson, Camille Logan, Caiden Logan, Shariah Johnson, God son Anthony Pullen, his brother John Frank Crockett, and sisters Willa Florence (Crockett) Jones and Patricia (Crockett) Harrell, best friend Calvin Hillman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Second Baptist Church, 186 N. 17th St. Masks are required.
Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Donald was a friend and spiritual brother to me. He was a blessing.
Donny & I became close friends in High School, attending our Jr/Sr prom w 2 other couples in Willie’s historical car. We actually ate at McDonald’s in Canton & had a blast of memories. Hanging out, dancing, football games ended after graduation & going our separate ways. Our paths ran together again at American Steel for a short while. He was a proud father of you 3 Ladies & grandchildren. You have my sincerest condolences in the loss of your Dad. My prayers are with you all.

I am saddened to hear about cousin Donnie. He was truly a man of character. I pray that the Lord will ease your distress and calm your troubled spirit during this difficult time.

My condolences to the Crockett family. I grew up around the corner from Donnie in Alliance. He was always very sweet. Praying for you all and know that he is at rest in heaven.
My memories of Donnie are too many to count! I remember helping Daddy build their house on Toni Street where we played kickball all the time. I was even in the basement when Donnie chipped his tooth while skating and I was one of the couples that Cindy King mentioned who rode in Willie’s car on prom night! I was so glad to hear his voice recently as we talked about our kids and grandkids. My prayers of comfort are with the Crockett family. Love you dearly!
My deepest condolences to the entire Crockett family. I have known Donnie for as long as I can remember. I loved to call him my brother from another mother. There are so many fond, funny times that included Donnie. From riding bikes to skating and singing in the Junior Choir at Second Baptist. As young adults, we went to midnight bowling ad trying out new restaurants. It was a distinct pleasure to know and love Donnie. Donnie loved his bride, Yvonne and his three beautiful little ladies, as well as his grandchildren. My prayers are with you all during these days.
We will miss you Dad! I can still hesr your voice asking how everyone’s doing and giving such wise advise. My family is beyond blessed to experience your overflow & will always be here for the Crockett family during your transition & all.

Our deepest condolences to the Crockett Family. May God continue to strengthen you and lift you up. We have known each other’s families since we were very young, and we always thought of Donnie as our “little brother”. It was a few years ago the last time we saw Donnie, and as soon as he saw us, he said, “Hey, I see family”! Even though it had been some years since we’d seen each other, it was like time had been erased and we were all back in school again laughing and joking together. He will truly be missed!
