Donna Gail Page-Johnson Sunrise December 27th, 1942 Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and Sunset December 14th, 2019 at Laurels of Walden Park in Columbus Ohio.

Donna, (affectionally known as Gail, Ms Dee, Momma Dee) was born December 27th, 1942 and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She was the oldest of 3 children born to Marjorie Virginia Page.
She grew up in the Hill District (Sugar Top) on Milwaukee Street. Where she attended Schenley High School.

After highschool she relocated to Washington D.C to pursue a career in Entertainment. She was known through school along with her sister for their Beautiful and Harmonic vocals. Donna also was dancer, musician and model. She performed at the Howard Theatre as an opening act for the Legendary Gladys Knight and the Pips. Where she met George Ellis Johnson. Dating a short time they were wed on July 25th,1962. Together they shared and raised together 3 children. Susan Carroll Johnson Michael Ellis Johnson, Stephanie Nicole Johnson-Ransome

She loved karoake, drawing, horticulture, arts and crafts, cooking, bingo and car repair. Donna received a degree in Nursing Assisting in 1986. Amongest many accomplishments was entertaining and forming her own band, Forever Yours and Co. Where she wrote original music, also performed covers by legendary artists such as Sarah Vaughn, Barbara Streisand, Chaka Khan, Melba Moore and Diana Ross to name a few. She sang lead and background vocals, also played Bass and Drums. In 1990, the whole family moved to Columbus Ohio where she lived until her recent passing.

Donna was a loving wife mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and set ethics and morals that her Daughters will continue to live by and pass onto their children and grand children.

She is preceded in death by the Love of her life the late George Ellis Johnson (Husband), Marjorie Virginia Page (Mother), Patricia Ann Page- Fields (Sister), Kenneth Larnell Page (Brother), and Joanne Tumpkin (Cousin).

To continue on and cherish her memory; Children, Susan Carroll Johnson (Daughter), Michael Ellis Johnson(Son), and Stephanie Nicole Johnson-Ransome,(Daughter); Six Grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Johnson, Ryan Nicholas Johnson Sr., Shatera Michelle Bey, LeRon Johnson, Alonzo Charles Ransome III and Amber Simone Ransome; 4 Great Grandchildren, Ryan Nicholas Johnson Jr., Rylan Ellis Johnson, Nadia Simone Walton, and Nyo Johnson, Kelly Virginia Fields (niece), Umar and Kito Page (nephews), along with other family and friends.

Celebration of Life for Donna Gail Page-Johnson, Friday December 27th, 2019 at Marlan Gary Funeral Home, The Chapel of Peace North, 2500 Cleveland Avenue, Visitation 6:00pm, Funeral 7:00pm. We will also Celebrate what would have been moms 77th birthday December 27th.

  4. I was sorry to hear about your mom, Stephanie. I miss the time I spent talking to her and wish there had been more. I remember her calling me at the library and sitting with me in her room when she showed her photo albums.
