Doris Loretta Gore

Doris Loretta Gore was born on January 24, 1935 to Beatrice Rosetta and Preston Calloway in Pemberton, West Virginia. She was called home to be with our Lord and savior on February 20, 2020.

Doris graduated from Staton High School. She went on to become an excellent mother and homemaker. Early in life she married Herman Thomas Anderson. From that union they had Herman Jr., Debra Holloway, and Edward Anderson. Later in life she married Herbert F. Gore, from that union Bryan Gore was born.

Doris loved her family and friends. She enjoyed being a homemaker and a stay at home mother. Her favorite things to do were taking care of others, cooking, cleaning, and sewing. Later on in life Doris developed a love for dancing, her signature move was the washboard. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Her ultimate message was to be kind to others it won’t cost you anything. She always had a smile to give to others. More importantly she was a woman of God.

To welcome her home to Heaven, husband, Herbert Gore; grandfather, Willie Colloway; father, Preston Calloway; mother, Beatrice Calloway; brother, James Calloway; daughter, Lynn Holt; and son, Edward Anderson.

To carry on her legacy, sons, Tim (Barbara) Gore, Herman Thomas Jr., and Bryan Gore; daughters, Debra Holloway and Jennifer Anderson; sister, Mary Cabell; brother, Tracy Calloway; grandchildren, Shawn Holt, Derrick Holt, Demond Newsom, Chris Holt, Ariel Rubio (Ismael), Rashunda Holloway- Collins (Jevon), Breilen Gore, and Brittany Gore; along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation 1:00 PM and Funeral Service 2:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.
