Our mother Dorothy Ruth McKibbins was born on April 17, 1930 in Macon, Georgia to parents Calvin Slocumb and Isabelle Calhoun. She departed this life to life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 1, 2019 at Capital City Gardens Rehabilitation Center. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia and she also attended the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. She married Ravmond L. McKibbins in 1957 and out of that union raised four children Tammy, Kenneth, Phillip and Anthony. Our mother was a devoted homemaker for many years before going to work at the State of Ohio.

She was a dedicated professional for 30 years before retiring in the early 90’s. Our mother attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Good Shepherd guild for 42 years.

Our dear mother Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Raymond L. McKibbins Jr. Parents Calvin Slocumb and Isabelle Calhoun. Sisters Mary Carswell, Peggy Calhoun and Mary “Dollbaby” Slocumb. Brothers Gary Calhoun Larry Calhoun, Junior Slocumb and John Slocumb, and Grandson Joshua McKibbins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Tammy L. McKibbins, step-daughter Angeline Jones, sons Kenneth W. McKibbins, Phillip G. McKibbins and Anthony R. McKibbins. She also leaves daughter in law Fawn Smith McKibbins and 2 grandchildren Jeremiah C. McKibbins and Fawn D. McKibbins. Furthermore, a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Monday, June 10, 2019 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
