Dwayne Marquis Johnston age 41 of Columbus, Ohio passed away August 3, 2020.

Dwayne was born July 13, 1979 to Vanessa Bayes and James “Jim” Johnston. Against many odds, Dwayne graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1997. He continued his education at the University of Cincinnati, where he received a full scholarship for football. He became the first Johnston to graduate from college when he graduated with his Bachelors in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology in 2002.

Dwayne married in 2002 and two children came from that marriage, Daelon and Deyona.During his career he worked as a substance abuse counselor, criminal rehabilitation case manager, and a youth specialist case manager. He later had another daughter Khalis Johnston. Dwayne was known for his warm smile, and his infectious personality. He was always ready to make someone laugh. He had a positive influence and impact on many throughout his short life. He will be greatly missed by all that had ever encountered him. One of the last things he said to his mother, Vanessa, while in the hospital was, “Please let my kids know that they are the best things I ever did in my life and that I will always love them.”
