Elgene Wilson

Elgene Johnson Wilson was born January 15, 1944, to her loving parents John and Emma B. Johnson of Flint, Michigan.

She graduated from Northern High School as Valedictorian of her class in 1962. Elgene was baptized at Canaan Baptist Church, but later started attending New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She was employed and later retired after 36 years as a supervisor for Delphi. Elgene also worked at IMB and Brick Motors.

Elgene was a strong woman of God who loved her husband Marzzellus Wilson unconditionally until she gained her wings.

She was the epitome of the phrase “Ride or Die” as she enjoyed taking care of all those close to her especially her nieces and nephews and she enjoyed spending time with family.

“Redd” as she was referred to by those who loved her, loved synchronized swimming, shopping, watching old westerns and cuddling with Al Capone (her dog).

Redd had a unique sense of fashion that was pristine and classy.

If you were privileged to be in Redd’s presence for any length of time you knew exactly what she was thinking or feeling as she openly expressed her thoughts invited or uninvited. She always spoke the truth and wherever she was there was certain to be love and laughter.

Redd loved hard and there is nothing that she wouldn’t do for a person in need. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. To honor her legacy the family requests that you give of yourself to others who are less fortunate.

She is proceeded in death by her loving Parents John and Emma B. Johnson; Sisters Catherine Luckado, Nadine Macintosh; Brothers Wilbert Johnson, John Johnson.
Elgene leaves to cherish her memories her loving Husband Marzzellus Wilson; Brothers Hubert Johnson, Jesse (Daisy) Johnson; Special Children in her life (The Twins) Brent, Breonna, Brea and Breayle Williams. Best Friends Katherine Overton and Phyllis Carroll. Special Columbus Friends Chris Johnson, Alfonson (Jacqueline) Burke, Sheila Freeman and Darlene Matthews. Along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephew and many friends.
