Elijah “Worm” Barrett

Elijah “Worm” Barrett was born April 3, 1954 and passed away peacefully at his home March 9, 2021 surrounded by a loved one.

Elijah attended and graduated from Linden McKinley High School. He earned the name Worm from being a good basketball player.

Elijah retired from Columbus City Schools where he worked as a custodian for over 30 years. Elijah enjoyed playing basketball, fishing and cooking.

Elijah leaves to cherish his memories, mother, S.B. White; former spouse, Rayetta Barrett; daughters, Junetta Barrett, Marcia Barrett, Bella Johnson, and Angel Barrett; son, Edgar (Tamara) Brown; loving sister, Phyllis Barrett; siblings, Rose Bradley and Joe Barrett. Elijah has several grandchildren that will miss him, along with other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

Services will be private.
