Elsie Marie Hairston was born October 21, 1941, in Circleville, Ohio. She was called home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2023,
Elsie retired from Rosemont School after 26 years of service. On Sunday April 16, 1995, she rededicated her life back to Christ. She was a member of Seventh Ave Community Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir.
Elsie loved shopping with her family. It was nothing for them to start when the stores opened and finished at closing. She loved her grandchildren. Their sports events were always a joy for her. Traveling was one of her favorite past times.
Elsie was preceded in death by her mother, Murriel Marie Hairston-Howell, father, Elzie LaMore Redman; brothers, Robert E. Hairston, and James W. Hairston; significant other, James L. Wilkey whom she had a relationship for over 30 years.
Elsie leaves to cherish her memories her children Angela Hairston, Yolanda Hairston and Carlos Hairston of Columbus, Ohio; brother Davis (Barb) Hairston; sisters, Sandra Cole of Columbus, Ohio and Marvine Thomas, of Circleville Ohio, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends .
