Condolences for the family of “E. Yvonne Harrell”

Condolence from Alvis James Moore on December 16th, 2022 10:48 pm

To the Harrell and Danner Families:
My mind is filled with so many precious memories of Yvonne; so many.
She and I started our singing ministry in the Temple Teens in 1964 and our piano lessons with the late Sis. Hazel Dean Garnes earlier probably around about 1961. We played for the Sunday Devotions every Sunday and we both had two songs apiece that we had to be ready to play. Yvonne was diligent and learned how to play classical music, anthems hymns and everything with the Temple/Senior Choir.
When I was invited to compete in the American Song Writer’s Competition, I recruited talent from Rehoboth to help me. Yvonne was among those recruits. As a result of that, I formed the New Life Gospel Singers and GOD blessed our ministry to flourish.
Among the songs that I wrote for Yvonne that stand out are “I Can Feel Your Love Coming Down” which we recorded in 1980, and “Salvation Is Free” which was always a concert favorite. She demonstrated for all of us that serving GOD and giving HIM her best was never something that had to be questioned. Her life and actions spoke louder than words.
Now, she is in the presence of the ONE who began a good work in her. HE performed it and finished it through her, and now she abides forever with HIM.
Family, I am praying for and with you.

Sincerely in Christ,
Alvis James Moore
Director, Rehoboth Temple Music, and Arts Department
Commissioner, Columbus Recreations and Parks
