Erica Kay Lee-Walker

On May 31, 1971 Erica Kay Lee-Walker was born to Rebecca Carey and Odell Johnson, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Erica transitioned from life to reward on November 14, 2021, after a private, but courageous battle against illness, showing great fortitude, courage, and beauty up until her last breath.

Erica received Christ as a member of the God’s House of Prayer in Columbus, Ohio under the leadership of the late Pastor Jacob Holloway.

As a child Erica led a good life. She graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1989. She attended The Ohio State Beauty and Barber College; became a successful nail technician working at several nail shops and making lots of friends along the way. She later furthered her education and became a Medical Coding and Billing Specialist. She was very good at her work and was always a leader in the workplace no matter what job role it was. Erica worked at Step 2 nail salon, Chabamba salon, Ohio Health Corp, Maryhaven and Buckeye Health. Erica was working for Buckeye Health Group Centene Management Company until her passing.

Erica loved her daughters, Kiarra and Keonna very much. They were her world from a young age. Erica was always a lady of style and took a lot of pride in looking good while being good to people. Erica always had unconditional love for her daughters, goddaughters, bonus family and every family member. She was encouraging, inspiring and offered advice wherever she could.

Erica was united in marriage to Frank Walker. The love they shared was undying. The blended family grew to include Erica’s two daughters and Frank’s four children and eventually grew to include a special god grandchild, seven grandchildren and four goddaughters over the nearly 20 years they were together.

Erica loved to entertain in her home by hosting family and friends weekly. There was never a dull moment! She loved to travel and go out to dinner weekly with Frank trying new restaurants but also sticking to the tried and true places they gained reputation at. Erica also loved to flip through the TV channels and hold the remote sitting in her favorite spot in the house. Erica lived a full life in her 50 years.  Fifty years may seem short to us, but Erica shared a special love for her family, friends and co-workers. She never met a stranger! Cherished memories will live on in each of our hearts for even greater than the amount of time we had with her.

Erica is preceded in death by grandparents Ike and Sallie Lee; sister, Katrina Johnson; close cousin, Krysta Jackson and sister/friends, Kristen Kish Hunter and Valerie Qualls.

Erica leaves to cherish her memory; her devoted husband, Frank Walker; two loving daughters, Kiarra and Keonna Lee; granddaughter, Amiylah Miamour; special god granddaughter, Shaune Brown; mother, Rebecca (Freeman) Carey; three sisters, Cynthia (Terrance) Johnson, Toni Lee and Monica Carey; two brothers, Ryan Lee and Wartime Carey. Bonus children, Amber, Frank III (Meghan), Tabbytha (Chad) and Isayah (Macala) Walker; six bonus grandchildren, Kaiden, Baylee, Finlee, Rylee, Bentlee and Elijah; goddaugters, Kimani Kendrick, Braxton White and Rayne Johnson. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and close lifelong friends.
