ERNESTINE THERESA (WILKERSON) JORDAN WAS BORN ON MARCH 4, 1957 TO THE UNION OF LEONARD AND JUANITA WILKERSON IN COLUMBUS, OHIO.  TINA, AS SHE WAS AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN, GRADUATED FROM LINDEN MCKINLEY HIGH SCHOOL IN 1975. TINA MARRIED FREDDIE JORDAN SR ON MAY 17, 1978 AND FROM THAT UNION, THEY WERE BLESSED WITH, TWO CHILDREN, FREDDIE JR G NICOLE JORDAN. TINA DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON DECEMBER 29, 2021, AND WENT ON TO BE WITH HER LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.

TINA  WORKED  FOR  THE  STATE  OF  OHIO  FOR  MANY  YEARS  BUT  AFTER  LEAVING THE STATE, TINA ANSWERED HER  GOD  GIVEN  CALL  TO  EDUCATION  AND  WORKED AS  A  ASSISTANT  SECRETARY  AT  LINMORE  MIDDLE  SCHOOL.          SHE WENT ON TO CONTINUE HER CAREER AT LINDEN MCKINLEY HIGH SCHOOL WHERE SHE GUIDED MANY STUDENTS FOR OVER 27 YEARS. TINA RETIRED BUT THAT CALL WAS TOO STRONG  AND  SHE  RETURNED  TO  FULFILL  A  TOTAL  OF  32  YEARS  IN  EDUCATION.

TINA WAS BAPTIZED AND RECEIVED THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AT THE AGE 16 YEARS OLD UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF ELDER FREDDIE BRISTOL. TINA AND HER SISTERS WERE APART OF THE ORIGINAL GOSPEL GROUP, THE BRISTOL GOSPEL SINGERS.  SHE TRULY LOVED SERVING THE LORD. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF ELIEZER CHURCH OF CHRIST WHERE SHE WAS IN THE CHOIR AND WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER UNTIL CHANGING MEMBERSHIP AND JOINING THE CORNERSTONE PENTECOSTAL CHURCH UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF BISHOP BUTLER.  AFTER  LOSING  HER  MOTHER  AT  A  YOUNG  AGE,    HER  FATHER  WOULD  ESCORT TINA AND HER TWO SISTERS, CHARLENE AND KATHERINE “VONNIE”, TO CHURCH.

HE MADE SURE THEY STAYED IN SERVICE BY ASKING THE USHERS TO DUE POP CHECKS TO SEE IF THEY WERE SITTING ON THE PEWS.

TINA WAS YOUNG AT HEART AND WAS ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY YOUNG PEOPLE, INSPIRING THEM TO BE THE BEST THEY COULD BE! MANY OF HER STUDENT REMEMBERED HER STAYING ON THEM AND SOME SAID THAT BECAUSE OF HER, THEY NOT ONLY GRADUATED BUT  WENT  ON  TO  GET  GOOD  JOBS  AND  CAREERS. SHE ALSO ADOPTED A SON, MICHAEL SOW AND BECAUSE OF THAT DECISION, CHANGED HIS LIFE. FOR EVER HE WAS ABLE TO ATTEND AND GRADUATE FROM KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY WITH A DEGREE IN ENGINEERING.  MICHAEL  WAS ABLE TO  TRAVEL  TO  HIS  HOME  COUNTRY  IN  WEST  AFRICA  TO  FURTHER  HIS CAREER.

TINA WAS PROCEEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS LEONARD AND JUANITA WILKERSON, AND HER SISTER, CHARLENE HUSBAND. AND SPECIAL FRIENDS BEVERLY; SHIRLENE: TINA LEAVES TO CHERISH HER MEMORY: SONS:  FREDDIE (TENQUIA MITCHELL) JORDAN, MIKE (WIFE) SOW; DAUGHTER: NICOLE (TAMAR COVIN) JORDAN; SISTER: KATHERINE (RICHARD) GREEN; GRAND SON:  JUAN; FREDDIE III.     I worked with Ms Jordan for many years at Linden McKinley. She was always giving me advice and looking after me and other. Always lent a helping hand with all of my extracurricular programs. Always at the games and programs. She was the heart of Linden. She never met a stranger and always made people Feel good about themselves. She is truly a legacy. I have many fond memories of her. And remember many of our conversations. She will be missed.

    I wanted to write and let you know that you and your family are in my prayers right now. I realize that there are no words that I could write or say to make things better, but please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. Ms. Jordan was top shelf – great for students, mentor to me and many others in CCS, always someone to brighten the day. She led by example and I will continue to try to follow her work each day in my daily work with our CCS students.
