Everett Starling (Sammy) Fields was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 8, 1941 and entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 17, 2019. He was a kind and respectful man. He was the rock of his family, sharing love, discipline and wisdom with everyone he encountered. While his family was the love of his life, he could always be found, in his spare time, playing the lottery, Dominoes, Poker, or cards with his Southside friends.

Everett Fields attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from Marion-Franklin High School. In 1960, he met and married the love of his life, Margie Lamar. To this union, four children were born. Everett worked for Ohio Malibu and later started his own business as a “Jack of All Trades”. If it was broken or needed to be built, he could fix it or build it.

Everett is predeceased by his parents, Curtis L. and Elizabeth D. Fields; his son, Curtis “Lynn” Fields; five brothers, Curtis L. Fields Jr., Tom Fields, Jimmy Willis, Rodney Willis and Albert Fields; and three sisters, Lula Fields, Jackie Atkins and Donna Jean Fields. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Margie Fields; a son, Everett (Alyssia) Fields, Jr.; daughters, JoAnne (Valance) Smith and Angela M. Fields; sister, Jeri Knight; sister-in-law, Bertha Boyce; grandchildren, Moncheria Fields, Kela (Terrell) Hisle, Everett Fields III, Tamara Fields, Dountae (Leola) Fields, Rashad (Serena) Fields, Thomas Fields, Ahmaad (Nina) Fields, Jasmine Fields, Valance Smith, Jr., Isaiah Fields, Dominique Banks; 27 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.
