Evonne “Punkin” Marie Hale-Ingram, age 62, passed away on May 9, 2021 at home.

Punkin grew up at Mt. Vernon Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and attended Mohawk High School in Columbus, Ohio. For many years Punkin worked as a home health aide. Punkin’s acts of service included her passion for cooking and serving dinners to many people throughout the Columbus, Ohio community. Her hobbies included fishing, playing BINGO, watching Lifetime Movie Network, spending time with her family, and being a social butterfly. Punkin had a way of lighting up the room with her smile, and she always left a person better than she found them. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Punkin was preceded in death by her father, DeVonne Hale Sr.; mother, Mary Hale; husband, David Ingram; sisters, Barbara Jean Davison, Diane Gwynn Johnson, and Patricia Hale; and grandchildren, Zelia Hale and Zambrina Marshall-Hale.

Punkin leaves to cherish in her memory, sons, Ronald (Zanadu Lyons) Hale, Ronte Jennings, and Lamar (Jaya Simpson) Hale; daughter, Ashley Hale; brothers, Howard Johnson, and DeVonne (Kim) Hale Jr.; sisters, Peggy Hale, Terry Hale, and Carmen (Jerome) Walls; grandchildren, Miyanah Hale, Mahogany Hale, Marianna Hale, Ronald Hale Jr. Denise Lyons, Zanadu Lyons, Zaron Hale, Zaronyae Lyons-Hale, Tyrese Hale-Casey, Tai’mar Williams, Jamarrion Hale, Lyric Hale, Erimas Hale, Shannon Taylor Jr., Shaunn Hale-Taylor, Dayionna Bange, Ashlynn Smith, Tatianna Brown-Moore, Ree Browder, Jada Jones, Rontesia Marshall, Zariah Marshall, and Ronte Jennings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Monday, May 17, 2021 at Unity Baptist Church, 1380 Mt. Vernon Ave.
