Florence was born on April 17, 1935 to the late Rueben and Mattie “Ruth” Woods in Boothton, Alabama. Early in life, she moved from Alabama and made Columbus, OH her new home.

Florence was a loving and caring person.  Her house was a place of refuge when needed, her front porch the meeting place. While Columbus was hone, she always looked forward to the family trips back “home” to Alabama. She loved to cook, and just gather with family. She was a fierce protector, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and just a wonderful Mother to all.

Florence was a proud, independent, hardworking, woman who raised her daughters to be the same.

Florence has joined her parents, daughter Sharon, Siblings Bessie, Thelma (Connie), Hiram, George (Jitter), Rueben (Wee Wee), Ronald and Archie.  Grandchildren Shavonne, Shawndel and Derehl.  Great Grandchildren Michael Jr., Amari and Deriyah in Eternal Life.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters Sheryl Fields, D’Andra Woods, Sylvia (Tony) Hoskins and Dana Humphrey.  Grandchildren Demetrius, Michael Sr. Terrance, D’Aundray, Maiya and Delayne.  29 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great Great Grandchildren.  Brother Donald (Celestine) Woods.  Dear Friend (Sister) Janice Hawkins. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Please pray for the Woods Family as they write the obituary for Florence D. Woods

D’Andra and the entire Woods family. We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Woods. There wasn’t a child in the Milo Grogan neighborhood that didn’t know Ms. Woods and her beautiful smile. She was so kind to each and everyone of us. We will pray that the family finds peace at this most difficult time.
