Freddie Douglas Ewing Jr.

Freddis D. Ewing Jr. Newspaper

Freddie D. Ewing Jr., was born on March 08, 1955 to Freddie D. Ewing Sr. and Marcella Ewing, number three of twelve children in Los Angeles, California. His parents and siblings passionately called him “Bumpsie” as he enjoyed being bounced on his Mother’s lap. He often told the story as his face would light up like a ray of sun!

Although he attended school in California, he eventually completed his schooling in Columbus, Ohio where his family relocated to. Freddie accepted God as his personal Lord and savior at an early age. His love and deep desire to not just know the word of God but to experience an intimate relationship with him remained evident throughout his life.

Freddie’s heart and courage to do his very best and follow through was the epitome of his life! He always believed he was the one responsible for all of his siblings and preserving his father’s family values. All knew him as a committed spiritual leader and family man; who enjoyed working on eighteen-wheeler trucks, until studying to become a roofer for the commercial and residential Community within the Ohio area. He worked for Saunders Trucking and Phinney’s Roofing before starting his own roofing company with his wife Nora.

  2. My prayers and sympathy to you, the family of Fred Jr. on his passing. I live in Atlanta, GA now, but I was a neighbor and friend of Mrs. Mary Ewing, Mrs. Marcella, Mr. Fred Sr., Gary, and James in the Woodland Park neighborhood for many years.
It often feels like a huge loss to us when The Creator calls a servant home, but I have found comfort in the thought that our loved ones are gifts to our lives for the time we’re allowed to share with them. I thank our maker for every moment. Our presence here is a “limited time” offer. Let us rejoice in our love for one another.

P.S. I intend to attend the service online this coming Sunday. May The Creator give you strength and peace.
