Gaines Collins Wheat, took his flight on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Ohio Health Riverside Hospital.

Ganes was born to Tanya (Wheat) Lawrence and Jerald E. Wheat on June 2, 1995 at OSU Hospital Columbus, Ohio.
Collins as he was affectionately known, gave his life to Christ at age 12. He was a member of Restoration Christian Center. It was there that he received his foundation. Collins attended Sunday school and participated in the Youth Ministry. His favorite passage of scripture is “For God so loved the world…” John 3:16; other scriptures that he declared over his life is Psalms 91 in it’s entirety and “No weapon formed against me…” Isaiah 54:17.

He attended Marion Franklin High School where he played on the football team.He was an avid sportsman and also enjoyed playing basketball. Collins later received his GED. Collins was good working with his hands on automobiles.
Collins had a goal to open a “Home for Sober Living”. He was currently registered for classes at Columbus State Community College to begin the classes he needed toward meeting that goal.

Collins main focus was his children. He wanted them to be happy and as any parent does, he had a desire for them to have an even better childhood than he had.

Collins was preceded in death by his grandmothers; Delilah Spraggins, Emma Jean Wheat, grandfather; Gaines Collins Wheat, Sr. and uncles; Robert Spraggins and David Wheat, first cousin; Demetrius Wheat.

He will be cherished and dearly missed by his loving mother; Tanya Lawrence and father; Jerald Wheat, children; Antonio Slaughter, Lavelle, Saryiah, and Julian Wheat all of Columbus, Ohio, siblings; Lorraine Wheat of California, Jerald E. Wheat, Jr., Daniel Wheat both of Florida, and Eugene Solomon Wheat of Columbus, Ohio, uncle; Willie Spraggins, close friends; Colonel Brewster, Langston Garrison, and DJ.
