Garry Adrian McGregor was born to Cleophus and Mable McGregor (LittleJohn) on March 23, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio. Garry went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2022, at the age of 76. He was the 3rd child of 3 children and the father of 1 daughter and 1 son who will miss him dearly.

He was a proud attendee of Central High School where he first met his loving and devoted wife Deborah McGregor (Griffin).

Garry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 9, 1963. He first transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve Data Services Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Then into active service in Beaufort, South Carolina and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The 17-year-old Garry boldly set out to serve as a Field Radio Operator in the Vietnam War. He went on to receive the National Service Medal, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. His service in the Second Battalion, Second Marine Division earned him the Character of Service of an Honorable Discharge. So much of his persona was intertwined with his military service. He proudly wore his US Marine Corp hats and pins daily.

Garry returned to Columbus, Ohio, and soon became a devoted Husband and Father. In a lot of ways, he was a big kid at heart. He collected toys, roller skated with the neighborhood kids, played video games, and was known to be the Monopoly Game champion. He had quite a few hobbies that he truly enjoyed over the years. These include listening to good music, playing with satellite-communications, cruising through the city with the windows down, and collecting coins. He shared his passions with others and always was able to spark a conversation with anyone. Garry had acquaintances and friends all over the city, from the local gas-stations to the local markets. But his special love was for his wife Deborah who he always adored. Together they shared 28 years of marriage, laughter, children, and love.

Garry is preceded in death by his parents Cleo and Mable McGregor of Tennessee and North Carolina, sister Winifred Williams (McGregor), in-laws Harold and Mary Griffin, brother-in-law(s) Thomas Williams Sr., Luther McNeil, Harold Griffin Jr., Wayne Bass, and nephew Darrell Williams.

He is survived by daughter Sherri McGregor, son Brian McGregor, sister Muriel McNeil of San Bernardino, CA, sister-in-law Susan Griffin of Columbus, OH, brother-in-law David Griffin of Columbus, Ohio, granddaughters, Dion, Makennah, Avery, Laila, and Marissa, grandsons, Carlos Jr., and Luca, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
