Gene’tra F. (Thomas) Gardner, age 71, departed this life peacefully on February 9, 2022, at home with her loving daughter Quezette Gardner by her side.  Gene’tra was born August 8, 1950 to the late Clarence (Buster) and Marie Thomas in Fairfield, Alabama; however she spent the majority of her life in Columbus Ohio.

Gene’tra was employed at various places including Ikon Solutions where she retired as an Administrative Assistant.  She enjoyed playing softball and pool in her earlier years.  Gene’tra joined in holy matrimony to the late Charles A. Gardner from this union they had three children Shon Gardner, Quezette (Tracy) Gardner Broomfield, Michael Gardner. She accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was a devout Christian.  She was a member of the Kimberly Parkway Church of God for many years and loved singing in the choir and serving her church body.  Gene’tra loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart.

Gene’tra was predeceased by her parents Clarence (Buster) and Marie Thomas, ex-husband Charles A. Gardner and grandson Anthony Dickerson.

Gene’tra leaves to cherish her memory three children: Shon Gardner, Quezette (Tracy) Broomfield, Michael Gardner, and a stepson Dwayne Hall.  She also leaves a Sister Tondeleria Thomas Tull (James) of Littleton, CO, two Brothers, William (Redd) Bowers, of Columbus, OH and, Thomas (Lesley) McCaleb, of Frisco TX.  She was the proud grandmother of Ty’Shona, Shon Jr, Charles Jr, Jamar, Trey’Auna, Tracy, Michael Jr., Makyra, Miseed, Tyler, Stephon, and Shamyra.

Great grandmother to Philont, Chole, Joseph, Trey’Mar, and Legend. Two very special inherited daughter’s: Tammi (Broomfield) Blanks and Lauren Beck, as well as a host of other family members and friends including Victoria Talley and Asdon Montgomery.

Gene’tra cared for her community.  She was always available to share God’s word or aid those in need.  She will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, February 21, 2022 at Kimberly Parkway Church of God, 4150 Kimberly Parkway North.
