George Burton, 72, of Columbus Ohio, passed away on September 5, 2023. George Burton was born on May 31, 1951 to George Burton Sr. and Elline Burton in Columbus Ohio.

After George Burton graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1969, he went on to study at Columbus College of Art & Design.

George was a loving, kind, outgoing person who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He loved to build homes. He built homes for many years working as a foreman for several home builders throughout his career. George’s other true passion was cars. He started working on cars at a young age with his father.

He never met a stranger and anyone he crossed paths with became his fast friend. He was a kind loving man who loved the simple things in life. He loved car shows, the people, winning trophy after trophy and the camaraderie of others with their classic cars.

George Burton was predeceased by father, George Burton Sr.; mother, Elline Burton; brother, Wayne Burton, grandson; Torian Bailey.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jeri Burton; children, Deshawn Burton, DeShawndra Burton, Rondal Davis (Tina Davis), Marcie Davis, Shellie Bailey (Toriano Bailey); grandchildren, Noah Burton, Nia Burton, Nya Russell, Joshua Davis, Jalesia Davis and Shayla Bailey; siblings, Charmel Carter, Yolanda Hairston (Richard Hairston); uncles, aunts,
nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Visitation 5:00 PM and Memorial Service 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 Joyce Ave.
