Gloria Jean Owens Hester, “Glo”, was born Sunday November 14, 1954 to the Nellie White Fletcher and Willie G. Owens in Mansfield (Richland County), Ohio and lived in Mansfield for the past 63 years.

Gloria truly lived her life to the fullest, she enjoyed playing softball, gospel music, cooking and bingo and playing with her grandchildren. Gloria also found refuge in taking care of all her beautiful plants and helping others in need.

Gloria was preceded in death by mother, Nellie White Fletcher; sisters, Dorothy Fletcher Haliburton and Joan Fletcher Marsh; brother, James William Fletcher; and son, Montay Owens Sr.

Gloria is survived by, father, Willie G. (Almeida) Owens of Meridian, Mississippi; son, Burton L. (Nikki) Hester Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Fletcher Smith, Dorothy Latimore, Christine Owens Taylor all of Mansfield, Ohio, Geraldine Owens Hall of Montgomery, Alabama, and Bobby Orr of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Curly Mixon of Elgin, Illinois; special niece, Regina Dixon of Mansfield, Ohio; bestfriend, Loretta Norris of Mansfield, Ohio; goddaughter, Tilvada Norris of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, relative, and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Friday, January 17, 2020 at Oasis of Love, 190 Chester Ave.

Interment at Mansfield Cemetery Association.
