On Thursday, September 15, 2022, Gregory Carnel Walker, Loving son and brother, passed away in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 64. Gregory (Greg) was born on August 18, 1958 in Augusta, Arkansas to James Walker and Barbara J. (Doss) Walker.
Greg graduated from Linden McKinley High School and after graduating he enlisted into the Army and was Honorably Discharged after serving 8 years. Greg’s life was full and varied. Greg loved to work on cars and motorcycles and an avid artist. Football was a lifelong passion. He also learned to speak German while he was in the Army and his knowledge of the language was helpful in his life at home. He was known for his big smile and his quick jokes, his kind heart and compassion was his biggest attribute in life.
Greg was preceded in death by his father James T. Walker; stepfather, Albert B. Diggs; sister-in-law, Georgana Walker; and stepbrother, Albert E. “Butch” Diggs.
Greg is survived by his mother, Barbara J. Diggs; brothers, Randy T. Walker, Ronald K. Walker, and Donald K. Walker; and sisters, Teresa R. Walker, Anita S. (Robert) Harper and Tamela F. Walker; stepbrothers and sisters, Zola Guess and Donna Diggs of Columbus, Ohio, Charles B. (Tonya) Diggs of Beckley, West Virginia and Jeffery A. (Dannell) Diggs of Silver Springs, Maryland; special friend, Antoinette Kennedy; and a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Friday, September 30, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
