Gwendolyn Elizabeth Cody, 69 passed away on Tuesday February 2, 2021, at her residence. She was born on February 24, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to Gwendol and Daisy Kenney.

Gwen graduated from Columbus East High School. She was a devoted Military Wife, Mother and Loving Grandmother. She worked at Ohio State University until retirement.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, Gwendol and Daisey Kenney; Husband, Willie L. Cody; Granddaughter, Tyreshia Cody and sister Toya Kenney-White.

Gwen leaves to cherish her memories her children, Maurice (Ronda) Cody, Kizzy Cody, Zwata Cody, Shawn (Daluana)Gammon; Bonus Daughter, Carolyn Preston; Sisters, Patricia Alexander, Gail (Charles) Curtis, Marcia Durroh, Donetta Sellers; Brother, Keith Williams, Sister-in-law , Barbara Cody; Brother-in-law, Eugene Cody; Grandchild/Daughter, Kizzy Burris, Grandchildren, LaQuann, Maurice Jr., Senteria, Dashraun, Demetriace, Talia, Dondi, Tomonque, Shaman, Quatalyn, MaJanae, Deja, Dela ; 11 Great-Grands, Bonus Granddaughter, Kendall as well as a host of Nieces and nephews.

Gwen loved everyone and was a joy to be around.

Public Viewing at 1:00pm followed by a Private Visitation at 2:00pm and Private Family Funeral 3:00pm Saturday, February 13, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd). Mask and Social Distancing are required.

    R.I.H. Cousin Gwinny!! Thankful for you as I remember how we were up to our knees in SNOW..me in labor..trying to reach Willy’s car..lol..we kept falling down it was hilarious..after 30mins..we were on our way..hours later My Daughter was born.. We have often laughed about that time!! Later precious.. always on my Spirit..Amen!!
