Helen Jenever Owensby-Holland was born July 21, 1927 and went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2018.
Helen attended and graduated from East High School then later graduated from Mt. Carmel School 9of Nursing and later as a registered pharmacy and chemist at OSU. She worked many years at Benjamin Franklin TB. Hospital and retired from Alum Crest Nursing Facility. Helen owned and operated Holland’s Carryout and Pater J+N carry out.
Helen loved to travel and traveled the world. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, gardening, cooking, helping anyone in need, having cook-outs and entertaining.
Helen is preceded in death by parents, John W. Brockman and Mary Helen Estelle-Mullins; daughter, Helen Lawson; and grandson, Larry S. Ransom Jr.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Ella Theresa Brockman; children, Freda Robertson, Sylvia Owensby, and Otis (Cheryl) Owensby; grandchildren, Otis Ransom, Cassandra (Bernard) Leonard, April Guy, Tammy (Earl) Cunningham, Geneva (Thomas) Owensby-Doyle, Edwin M. Goins III, Dwight (Aimee) Jones, Shanikka Flinn, Syljavia Sanders, Monique Robertson, Herbert (Taylor) Robertson, Olajuwon Owensby, and Amber Smith; great grandchildren Sequala Owensby, Miae’ Jone, Nihyae’ Jones, Immanuel Jones, Isaiah Jones, Zenota (Joe) Ransom-Sullens, Bryan Cunningham, Amber Cunningham, Avandi’ (Zenith) Milton, Josh Roberts III, Johnathan Roberts, Herbert Robertson III, Dayana Robertson, Bostynn Robertson, Tariq Robertson, Tavares Robertson, Trinity Robertson, Edwin M. Goins IV., Aahliyah Smith, Jordan Miller, Syl’jala Saunders, Je’Kaila Saunders, Kassandra Mason, Geneva Mason, Fedelis Mason III, Devon Ransom, Giovanna Ransom, Shaniqua Ransom, Gianikqua Ransom, Giaricca Ransom, Jayden Ransom, Jaxon Ransom, Larissa Ransom, Blake (Chris) Ransom, Chiqutwa Washington, Antwann Ransom, and Allen Ransom; special nephew, Stan (Diane) Brockman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Throw your burden on God and he will sustain you. No matter what you are facing God is there to help you though it.
To the family of Helen, you have my condolences in your loss. How is it that the Methuselah tree lives for 4,849 years when humans only live 70 or 80 years? (Psalm 90:10) God’s original purpose was for humans to live forever! (Genesis 1:28; Psalm 37:29) Soon his promise of the resurrection will come true and his purpose for humans to live forever.

So sorry to hear of Mrs Holland passing. I don’t know if she is related to Leonard Holland who I know quite well. May you find comfort for your loss from the God of all Comfort. His promises are very comforting. John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:3,4
