Hozie Hall, age 62 entered his heavenly room on November 18, 2022. Hozie was employed at the Federal Black Lung Program for over 25 years. He was a man of his word and did not hold back if he had an opinion. He loved working with his hands, taking something old and giving it new life with a purpose.
Hozie was strong in his beliefs and convictions and stayed stead-fast to his word. His love for music is the reason why he began to D-jay many years.
Hozie’s greatest love was God first, his earthly father and his two most precious gifts on this earth, his wonderful sons. Hozie is preceded in death by his loving parents Hozie Hall Sr. and Edna (Butler) Hall, sister, Sheila Hall, brother, Anthony Kent.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Joshua Benson Hall, Pastor Michael (Dee) Story; grandchildren, Dalton Story and Markel Story all of Arkansas; brother, Rodney Kent; Sister Linda Bridges and most beloved friend Kim Wilder as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Union Grove Baptist Church, 266 N Champion Ave, Columbus, OH.
Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

To my cousin Michael Story and the family of Mr. Hall, on behalf of the Palmer family we send our deepest condolences and continued prayers. God is a present help in the time of trouble. God peace and comfort surround you during this time.

Mr. Hosie Hall was so special to me. He has been apart of my life for 22 years. His love for my mom Kim was unconditional. I’m so sad you had to go but I guess God needed you more. We are going to miss you “June”. Our hearts shattered when we heard the news. I still can’t believe your gone. Thank you for being who you were. We will never forget you. Until we meet again….Rest peacefully.
To my sister Kim and the family I’m so sorry for your loss. June was very special and dear to me and my husband. He was truly my brother in law. Always caring and always had a kind word. He will surely be missed.

Hozie was a strong black man who was “oh so stubborn” and he stood his ground. He was a great father to 2 sons Mike & Josh who will carry on his legacy and be the men he raised them to be. My heart is broken…weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.

I have known Hozie since I was a little girl, and he was a constant part of life for a long time. He was a quiet and kind, gentle soul. He could also be really funny. I will always remember his big booming voice, and the way he used to comb his tiny afro forward.
May the ancestors welcome him with open arms and keep him in peace.
Dad, I still can’t believe that you are no longer here. I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have taught me and my brother. Your love for the both of us was unconditional. I love you with all my heart and we will meet again. Continue to look down on us ❤️ And me and Mike will continue to make you very proud. I love you
I worked with Hozie for many years at the Dept. of Labor. He was an excellent worker and a great friend to me. Rest in peace Mr. Hall.

It was an honor, privilege and a blessing to have known such a remarkably, kind and honest man as Hozie.
Rest In Peace my friend you will be missed until we meet again.
Although I didn’t know Mr. Hall very well because he was a private man. We had the pleasure of being his neighbors for two years and he was kind enough to allow us to park in front of his home. He would wave and honk the horn as he rode by. I’m saddened by his passing and know that he is protected by the Lord! Sending prayers to his family and just know he will always be by your side.
To the Hall family, I worked with him for only 2 months did not get to know him. When no one had heard from him at work for over a week I got concerned. I located his address via internet and went to his house and asked a neighbor had she seen him. We requested a wellness check and that’s when it was discovered he had passed away.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. I worked with Hozie for the last 10 years. He was such a kind and gentle person. Always looking out for others. He always had an encouraging word. He would always greet me with a, “hey little sis” and was always eager to help. It was difficult to say goodbye today. I will miss you friend and brother.
To my Dear Father, I couldn’t find words to say before now but I think I’m ready. My Baby girl was born two days ago and all I can think of is how much I wish you were here to see her! I miss you so much!!!! But I know that God has a reason for everything! Thank you for being all that you have been to me for all of my life and I pray that I can be to my children what you were to me and Josh!! Rest well Pop!!!
Hey Dad, how are you? I miss you very much. There has been a lot of things going on and I wish that I could call and tell you. There is not a day that goes by where I don’t think of you you are on my mind 24/7 ! I miss you and wish you were here. I’m getting ready to finish college. I want to go into radio production, maybe even become a DJ like you, I wish you was here to teach me 🙁 I love you❤️ and like I said before me and Michael are going to continue to make you proud. I worked with Hozie for almost 10 years, he was kind, dependable, a wonderful, gentle soul with a heart of gold, always willing to help. He use to email good morning regularly. I’m really going to miss him, I truly considered him a friend. I send my condolences to his son, his family and all who knew and loved him. I pray the HolySpirit comforts and keeps you today and always!
