Irma Jean Bass, passed away on February 21, 2023, in Springfield, Ohio. Irma was born on April 6, 1940, in Zanesville, Ohio, and was the beloved wife of the late Norman Bass Sr. They began dating at the age of 12 and remained married until he passed away. Together, they raised four children whom they loved and cherished: Cheryl (William) Alston, Norman Jr., Michael Bass, and Mark (Kim) Bass.

Irma was a very organized and detailed person, who lived her life with grace and elegance. She loved playing connect four with family and friends and was always ready for a good game. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed exploring new places with her husband, including Italy and various islands.

Visitation for Irma will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Greater Grace Temple, 380 W Leffel Ln. Springfield, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Glen Forest Cemetery in Yellow Spring, Ohio.

Irma Jean Bass was a kind and loving woman, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family and friends will remember her for her unwavering love, infectious laughter, warm and caring spirit and playing Connect 4. She is survived by her four children, and a host grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly and a host of other family members and friends.

Ms. Erma was such a sweet, wonderful woman of God. She was always so pleasant to talk to and never had a cross word to say. I didn’t know her as well or as long as some others, but I always admired her. I know that she is at rest with the God that she dearly loved. Praying for the family.
