Ja’Kai Mateo Lee Groce was born gracefully into this world on a sunrise of August 23, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Ja’Kai was 7 months old making everyone he came in contact with smile with his little dimples. He was active, kicking and grabbing faces. He enjoyed bouncing in his bouncer and sitting in his little chairs. He was a blessing to this earth and a good baby to those who either took care of him or was around him.
Ja’Kai’s sunset was on April 5, 2022. He will be dearly missed. Ja’Kai is preceded in death by his late grandmother, Michelle Mitchell; late great grandparents, Brenda and Donald Thomas; and cousin, Jayden Mitchell.
Ja’Kai leaves behind his mother, Jasmine Peters; father, Anthony Groce; sister, A’Nyla Groce; grandparents, Jacquata Green, William Daniel, Jason Peters, and Dr. Nia Peters; aunts, Ashley Groce, Sonia Mitchell, Carolynn Mitchell, Miracle Mitchell, Sydney Peters, and Elle Peters; uncles, Derick Ellis and Jayson Peters; and great grandparents, Carolynn Homes, Patricia Stokes, and Arthur Peters
Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 2:00pm Friday, April 15, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
