James spent the earlier part of his life in Minneapolis, MN and Toledo, OH. He attended Scott High School in Toledo where he played football and was a stellar athlete. In his later teenage years, he found his love for music and taught himself how to play the keyboard and the guitar. That’s also around the the time he earned his nickname “FP” meaning Finger Prints because it was said that everything he touched musically was “HOT”.

In 2005, he moved to Columbus, OH and started a family of his own, that he loved and cherished and gave everything he never had. He was a huge OSU, CAVS, and Browns fan. His favorite motto is “FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION” and he lived by that. He loved to cook and he taught all three of his children to cook and worked for a while as a Chef. He also did production at 31 gifts for 3 years and his co-workers became like family to him.

James had such a beautiful spirit and a light about him that you couldn’t help but notice. Everyone he came in contact with loved his sense of humor and genuine nature. He was the definition of a gentle giant and his smile/laugh lit up any room. James had a strong relationship with his family and with GOD and he was an amazing Dad, protector and provider. He is truly loved and will be missed!

He was preceeded in death by his Aunt Reba, Aunt Bettye and Uncle Robert Townley and his father.

He is survived by his spouse Ashley Duff and 3 children JaMariye(15), Ashiyah(14), and Anieyah(13) Stone, his mother in law Tracy Ziegler, father in law Terrance Farris Sr, mother Charlene Stone, brothers Terry(Leissa/Thierry) Farris, Dante’(Christy/Mariah/Savy/JuJu) Farris, Derrick(India Golden) Farmer, Chris Jameson, Jeff Duff, sisters Monique(Brexton) Farris, LaMara(Mario Crumpler)Jameson, Deanna Duff, a host of nieces and nephews, his Toledo family(Aunt Kim Liggons, Uncle Clarence Liggons, Kuprece West,Antwan West, Uncle Irvin and more) and all of his Fostoria Family.

Thank you to Everyone for coming to celebrate his life!
