James Dewitt Galloway, Sr. was born April 17,1936 in Wheeling, WV to Mable Webb and William Galloway.

Immediately after graduating from high school in 1954, he took a few classes at Bowling Green College before following in the footsteps of his older siblings by joining the military. He was enlisted into the United States Air Force from 1955-1958. He was a civil servant for 20 plus years and retired from the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant on April 17,1996.

James, better known as “Lefty”, enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, bowling and traveling. In his younger days he liked to go out dancing and playing basketball. He was a die-hard Cleveland Brown fan and loved his Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a very kind, loving and gentle man. He was a man of integrity, that believed in hard work, staying humble and always showing respect. Although he could be stubborn at times, he would do anything to help those that he loved. He will be remembered for being laid back, easy going and making others laugh.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Mable and William Galloway, his brothers Joseph Rivers and Charles Galloway, his wives Beatrice Mae Galloway and Sunee Moon Galloway, daughter Gloria Jean Harlin and son Derek Galloway.

Left to cherish his memories are several loved ones and relatives from a lifetime of relationships.
