James was born Friday, November 15, 1963. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio.
James attended Columbus City Schools. He was known for always working at Columbus City Schools. He was a hardworking man who loved family. In his past time, Jimmy loved collecting and working on cars.
James is preceded in death by His mother, Leila Wooden; father, George Edward Smith; sister Debra Bowman and brother, Robert Bowman.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, DaMona Lipsey-Bowman; children, James Bowman Jr., Dominic Jones, Donivan Lipsey and Jalisa Bowman; siblings, Linda (Horace) Cockrell , Billy (Kim) Bowman, (Stan) Cockrell; daughter, Jalisa Bowman; son, James E. Bowman Jr.; seven grandchildren, a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jimmy will truly be missed.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.

To my long time Friend DaMona Lipsey Bowman I was so Happy when you married the Love of your life Jimmy Bowman I know that he made you so happy and I was happy for you both,..God put you two together even if it was for a short time. God has a way of giving us Happiness when we really need it and thats what we cherish as long as we can. But when God calls us home he is still in charge and he will ALWAYS take care of who is left behind. So continue to Lean and depend and keep your eye on the prize which is GOD and you will be just fine. As long as you have family and friends and God you will be ok.
