James Lokeith Grant 60, of Lorain, Ohio passed away on October 5, 2020 at Columbus Healthcare Center Nursing Home. He was born in Bessemer, AL and later moved to Lorain, OH where he lived until moving to Columbus, Ohio.
James attended Lorain City Schools and joined the US Army, but his career ended due to medical reasons. Lokeith was a great cook and enjoyed attending cookouts and gatherings with his family and friends…especially nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his two favorite ladies, mother, Emma Grant and sister, Janice Grant. Lokeith was also preceded in death by his father, James Grant; brother, Boyzie Grant; sister Margaret Ann Grant; aunt, Mattie (Joe) Huff; Issac Lipscomb and David Lee.
James will be missed by his daughter, Aqualla Grant (Columbus, Ohio); sons, Jamal Cook (Atlanta, GA) and “JT” Jones (Toledo, Ohio); grandchildren, Zhamir Grant and D’Nae Grove; two great grandchildren, Dalis and Ariya; special friends, Michael Harris, Charles “Squally” Johnson, and Vincent Little; aunt, Juliette Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
James will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
