James L. Minor, age 91 passed peacefully at his residence on December 4, 2021. James was born in Harrietville, Ohio, where he grew up and went to High School. He then joined the Army and fought in the Korean War.

James loved telling stories about growing up in the country. When you attended the family reunion, he would have to take you on the tour of where he grew up. He loved golfing and going to the driving range

James married Pearl Minor in 1957 and they later moved to Columbus, Ohio, to that union they had 3 daughters.

He was employed at East Texas Motor Freight and retired after 20 years. He later was employed at Avis Rental Car where he retired after 15 years.

James was preceded in death by his parents, William Minor and Esther Jackson; sister, Willene Qualls. Mary E. Minor and Carolyn Evans; brothers, Buddy Allen and Melvin Minor; son, Eric Young; grandson, Robert Johnson and granddaughter, Tyshawnna Hinton. Left to cherish his memories are, sister, Patricia Maye; daughters, Felicia Judge, Portia Johnson, and Tonya (Wayne) Prater; granddaughters, Lateesa Johnson Paris Trammel; grandson, Juwon, Samson and Justin Minor, Brooks Adams and Eric Young Jr, 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

Private Visitation 1:00 PM and Private Funeral Service 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd).
