James McKnight Jr. also known as “Mack” or “Main” was born September 30, 1949 to the late James and Ideila McKnight. He was called home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2018 at his residence peacefully sleeping.

He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. E.N Jude at St. Luke Baptist Church Jonestown, MS. He attended Jonestown Elementary School. Although he never finished high school he could read, write, and had a good understanding of things. He was a man by of a few wounds and loved by many. He left home at an early age and moved to Chicago, IL. Where he lived for many years. He was employed by sears where he worked for many years. He then moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked at the Marriott hotel until he started having health problems.

He leaves to cherish his memory with daughter Adelle Jackson in Chicago, IL., grandchildren Antonio Jackson, Sharmaine C. Jackson, Preston Jarvell Anderson Jr., great grandchildren Marcus Freeman, Nilah Jefferson, sisters Pearline Tucker from Tampa, FL., Nellie (Rev. Aldai) Hampton, from Chicago IL., Rosie (Leon) Fletcher Lyon, Lucille Maple Howard, Mary McKnight from Columbus, OH., brothers General (Gene) McKnight from Columbus, OH., as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 5:00pm and Funeral 6:00pm Saturday, February 17, 2018 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
