James “Jimmy” Richard Owens, in the quiet mist of April 2, 2022 entered into his eternal rest. Jimmy was born on December 23, 1954.

Jimmy was a Navy veteran. He took pride with being a volunteer at the local VA. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed checking on his siblings, and enjoyed a good plate. He took pride with helping other on their road to recovery by hosting local AA meetings. He enjoyed going to church and being a walking example of God’s grace. Your journey is now complete.

James is preceded in death by father, Willie J. Owens; mother, Queen E. (Beckham) Owens; and brothers, Michael Owens and Steven Owens.

James is survived by his siblings, Deborah Houston (Ronald), Jeffrey Owens (Bernadine), and Jerry Owens; son, Dominique Patterson; daughters, Lorraine Wiley, Timikia Wiley, and Ajai (Reginald) Jarrett; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his ‘Bestie’.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Friday, April 15, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
