James Thomas Sanford, Jr., age 73. Sunrise September 9, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio and Sunset December 1, 2016 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran. James was a COTA Bus Driver and member of Kingdom Embassy Columbus.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie (Smith) and James T. Sanford Sr.; grandparents, George and Julia Sanford; son, Jeremiah C. “Uncle Man” Sanford; daughters, Sandy Sanford and Helena L. Jenkins; sister, Joann Brooks; grandson, Ricardo Smith and great grandson, Ricardo “Mannie” Mills.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, Eleanor K. Sanford of 56 years; sons, James T. Sanford III, Rocky T. (Stephanie Smith) Sanford, and Eugene Sanford; daughters, Jacqueline M. Sanford, Zina M. Sanford, Jonelle Hawkins-Sanford and Ireatha R. (Dave) Dawes, adopted son, Vonzell Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation Friday December 9, 2016 4-7pm at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (1 block east of Noe Bixby, Turn North on Lonsdale Rd). Funeral 10am Saturday, December 10, 2016 at THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST. Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
