Jessie Mae Nichols was born in Bonnie Blue, VA on June 2, 1934 to the late George and Ethel Thompson. She departed this life on October 2, 2021. She attended Williamson High where she graduated in 1951. Thereafter, she wed Carl Nichols in Columbus Ohio on March 24, 1956. They welcomed their daughter Kathy E Talbert (Nichols) on June 7, 1960. Jessie cleaned homes until she started her in home Day Care in 1972 until she retired. Jessie has blessed many people as a childcare provider. She would feed, cloth, whatever was needed, she was there for each child she ever cared for. Jessie held her in home day care till 2011 when she retired. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She loved all her grandkids and great grans. She was always an active member in church. Where she enjoyed praising the Lord. She was the mother of Christ Southern Missionary Church.

Jessie was proceeded in death by her late husband, Carl Nichols; grandson, Donovan A. Talbert; sisters, Willie, Christina, Loraine, Elvira, Mattie, Jewel, and Helen; brothers, Albert and Prince; in laws, Charles Murphy Jr, Lorenzo Howard, and Barbara Sue King.

Jessie is survived by daughter, Kathy E (Richard) Talbert; special daughter, Joyce Saulsbury-Dennis; grandchildren, Skira J (Timothy) Woods, Richard A (Natricia) Talbert II, Starla Lea Hanks, and Rickelle A Talbert; great grandchildren, Ki’yuana, Trey-Shawn, Ziymere, Markus, Moaci, Nibiah, Mia, and Darriona; extended grandchildren, Denise, Jacqueline, and I’na; sisters-in-law, Clotiel Sowell, Gloria Howard, and Dreama Slappy; bother-in-law, Pastor Clayton (Brenda) Howard; Special friend Eva Butler and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Christ Southern Missionary Church, 727 Stambaugh Ave.
