Jewel “Mel” Green

Jewel Melvin Green was born on September 6, 1953 to Willie and Eva Green. Mel as he was affectionately called, was the third oldest child of 7 children. Mel was raised in Lebanon, Ohio. The family moved to Middletown, Ohio during his teen years and he graduated from Middletown High School.

Mel was fun-loving, a good listener and a great dancer.  He always had an opinion or words of wisdom for every conversation he was a part of. Mel was the rock and the glue that held the family together. His presence will forever be missed.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Eva Green and brother, James Green.

Mel leaves to mourn his passing, 3 brothers, William of Middletown OH, Howard (Donna) of Middletown OH, and Lawrence of Columbus OH; 2 sisters, Alice (Marvin) White and Jeanette Dix of Columbus OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jewel will be truly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Monday, February 28, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
