Joe Louis Cox, Sr., was born on September 13, 1935 to Jack Cox and Katherine Reavish Cox who preceded him in death. He passed away on February 6, 2012 peacefully in his home.

Joe worked as a Treatment Technician at Allied in Hopewell, VA and retired after 25 years. He loved bowling, fishing, hunting and shooting pool with friends. He was a member of Union Branch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, VA for many years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and host of friends.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers John Cox, Sr. and June Easley and stepfather William Easley.

He is survived by his former spouses Kate Cox and Shirley Cox, children Diane Cox (Michael), Joe Cox, Rochelle Cox Whitlow (Jeff), Cherita Goolsby-Scott (Michael), Keith Cox (Nina) and Rasand Cox-Riggin, grandchildren Carleton Goolsby Scott, Shawnta Cox, Keith Marlo Cox, Taylor Quiller Cox, Keshanah Cox, Keshawn Cox, Noah Cox, Carlaton White, II, Micah Cox-Riggin, and Navonte Riggin., sisters Della Rodgers and Rosalee Bass.

He will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him and the pleasure of loving him.
