John Stewart Jr., affectionately known as JJ, was born on July 5, 1968 to the parents of John and Juanita Stewart. He was the youngest of his siblings. JJ departed this life on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital with his loving family and friends at his side.

JJ enjoyed playing cards, pool, and traveling. JJ was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also was a jokester, always laughing and kidding with mostly everyone he came across, including his grandchildren and daughter Johnita. JJ graduated from Brookhaven High School. He worked many jobs over the years gaining good experience and wisdom along the way. He enjoyed married life for a while and remained good friends with his former wife Tina. JJ gave his life to Jesus confessing him as Lord and accepting him into his heart in 2018. Praise the Lord.

JJ is preceded in death by his precious mother, Juanita Stewart; grandparents, Carl and Elizabeth Lowery; aunts; uncles; cousins; and a special stepson Torshaun (Shaun) Jackson.

JJ is survived by his father, John Stewart; loving daughter, Johnita Stewart; grandchildren, Tamyiah, Johnita, Joseph, Domanick, and Lena; sisters, Roberta, Markeita (Earl), Linda (Jerone), and TeeTee; little brother, Derrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation 9:00am and Funeral 10:00am Saturday, April 23, 2022 at MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
