Johnnie Mae Willis Burrell, age 75, passed to her heavenly home on January 14, 2022. She was born on December 18, 1946, in Graysport, Mississippi, and moved to Columbus, Ohio at an early age. Johnnie was a graduate of Columbus East High School.
Johnnie was employed at Pediatric Academic Association for 12 years. She enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1979 where she attained the rank of Staff Sergeant until 1984.
Johnnie was a devoted mother to her son through his extended illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joshua Willis, and Irene Pass Willis; son, Keenan Wayne Burrell; and brother, Joseph L. Willis. Johnnie is survived by sister, Mary (Anthony) Curry; sister-n-law, Jacki Willis; nieces, Anika (Ron) Goff, and Renee Boudreaux, also a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation 12:30 PM and Funeral Service 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at MARLAN J.
