Johnny Houston, born 1946 in Athens, Alabama, to Oma O’Neal and Dave Houston, accepted Christ at an early age.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Ennis Ann. Together they raised a family of three children, Marcus (Edda) Houston, Dale (Stephanie) Houston, and LaWonda Y. Houston. Johnny also dearly loved his two grandchildren, Dr. Maria Houston and Marcus Houston II, two sisters, Willie Mae Mason and Nina Houston, sister-in-law Barbra Mosley-Peyton, brother–in-law, Steve Mosley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Johnny was dearly loved by his family and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Houston will lie in state at 11:00am and Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 noon Friday, March 31, 2017 at MARLAN J GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.)

    I have been praying for you and yours for the peace of the Lord to be upon the peace that passes all understanding for you all! You are in thoughts and prayers at this time in life! I won’t be able to attend the services do to working in another county in the same time frame but I will continue to keep you close to my mind and heart! Remember to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. Oh how they are rejoicing up there awaiting for us some glorious day!

  2. Lord there really was a John Houston!! ( inside joke with Ennis). I was absolutely stunned to receive the word. Ennis I love you and you and the family have been on my mind, in my thoughts and prayers continually I am comfortable leaving this here because I am confident you will be able to get to it (ARC experience). Praying and believing that God will give you strength. Praise him for the previous gift of memories.
