Ms Jo’lon “Katt” Domynique Calhoun, age 32. Sunrise January 18, 1989 and Sunset January 26, 2021.
Jo’lon Domynique Calhoun transitioned to be with the Lord on January 26, 2021. Jo’lon was born to Yolonda Curtis and Perry Calhoun on January 18, 1989, in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Columbus City Schools and was employed at the Living Room Lounge and Bar.
Jo’lon is survived by her mother, Yolonda Curtis of Cary, NC; father, Perry Calhoun (Wilbertine), of McDonough, Ga.; siblings, Nadia Curtis Swann of McKinney, Texas, Mac Calhoun of Cary, NC and Alexis Calhoun of Wheatley Heights, NY; nephew, Dominic Swann, nieces, Noah and Noelle Swann, all of McKinney, Texas; aunts; Joretta Curtis, Mary Calhoun and Edith Calhoun; uncles, Bruce Curtis, Charles Calhoun & Sam Veal; special father figures, Kenneth Scurry and Ron Mapp, along with a host of other loving relatives and numerous friends.
As a young child, Jo’lon was baptized at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church under the leadership of the late, Dr. Charles Booth. Jo’lon served in several ministries.
Jo’lon shared her love with many family members and other close friends who energized and enriched her life. She was all about the energy, “Sassy” and “Classy”! Her loyalty was beyond reproach and her transparency and straightforwardness made her special in the eyes of many who knew and loved her. She will be missed by many, but her memories will live on forever.
Public Visitation 9:00 AM- 10:30 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM (must have a ticket) Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Christian Valley Baptist Church, 3330 Scottwood Rd. Mask and Social Distancing are required. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Ms. Jo’lon I never thought I’d ever write this with your name.. but rest peacefully, and I love you girl. You are missed so much. I pray God will comfort your family and friends. Until we meet again, rest and our Fathers arms.

OMG! I just found out about Jo’lon (Katt) and still am in shock! Although I don’t know you, its clear from your words that you were pretty close to her so I’m praying for your loss of a special friend as well. Katt was a friend of one of my cousin’s (San in Florida). She was one really cool person. I knew she had the stroke before, but was wondering what exactly happened to her to cause her passing? From what I had last heard people were saying she was improving, and then suddenly this happens. 🙁
